I swear I am not being paid for this post. I’m just astounded at the price difference between my current auto insurance and Geico. By switching, we can save $400 every six months. Okay, so when I factor in the discount we get for our home owners’, the savings is really only about $250, but STILL!
So, anyone have any horror stories about Geico before we switch?

I’ve had GEICO for 8+ years and have been satisfied with them. I’ve made one claim during that time for a parking lot fender-bender. I was disappointed with the results of that claim, as they assessed 50% of the liability on me when I felt the circumstances demonstrated the other guy was at fault. However, through the process of disputing that claim, I found that they took a lot of time to listen to me, review the claim once more, and talk with me. My rate wasn’t affected by the claim, but that might be because I had been with them for 5 years by that time.
Comment by structureguy November 28, 2006 @ 11:32 pmI’ve often wondered how their rates would compare to our current rate…may have to check them out.
Comment by Judy November 29, 2006 @ 6:20 amI don’t know about Geico, but when we moved to Austin, our homeowner’s insurance dropped by almost half! Maybe you should move to Austin.
Comment by Karen November 29, 2006 @ 10:11 amDoug had them for a few years, and we had no problems. I think he even had 2 claims with them, and they were easy to deal with. We only switched when our neighbor could give us a better deal.
